Plantar fasciitis is inflammation of the plantar fascia, a thick band of tissue that runs along the bottom of your foot. It is commonly treated with rest, ice, physical therapy, orthotics, and in severe cases, injections or surgery. Dr. Rockwood has a very specific protocol for evaluation of plantar fasciitis using x-ray and diagnostic ultrasound to provide an exact diagnosis and customize a treatment plan for each patient.
Neuropathy refers to damage or dysfunction of one or more nerves, resulting in symptoms such as pain, numbness, or weakness. When it affects the lower extremities, it can cause significant discomfort and mobility issues. Common symptoms include tingling, burning sensations, and a feeling of "pins and needles" in the legs and feet.
Entrapment Neuropathy and Surgical Treatment
Entrapment neuropathy occurs when nerves are compressed or trapped, leading to chronic pain and numbness. While over-the-counter treatments and other therapies can provide relief, many patients seek a more definitive solution. Surgical intervention can offer long-term relief by releasing the entrapped nerves and restoring normal function. Dr. Rockwood at BlueRock Foot and Ankle, a specialist trained by Dr. Lee Dellon, a world-renowned expert in this field, can provide advanced surgical care to help patients achieve lasting relief from their symptoms.
